Top Pendulum Clock

The Top Pendulum Clock is an experimental clock using magnets to hold the pendulum vertical at the top of the clock. The magnets are adjustable which allows the period to be varied, controlling the rate. The pendulum length is also adjustable to further complicate the process. The clock runs fine but is very sensitive to changes in power. I have used a Negator constant torque spring motor but it is very weak for the purpose and its torque is far from constant. There is nothing isochronic about this clock but it is interesting and the grasshopper escapement is simple and straightforward. I don't think I would build another one of this type.
