When shop testing the Hinge Wizard, we discovered that the shaft of our professional model router was seriously misaligned with its base, and we suspect that this problem is not an uncommon one. If your router's error is from side to side, you can offset the problem by simply turning it around when you turn the end-stop of your Hinge Wizard over to complete your final two mortises. If not, and you do a lot of template routing, you may want to consider mounting a new, more accurately aligned base plate on the router. We offer this clear, poly-carbonate version with a built-in template guide and centering pin which can be precisely positioned and secured without drilling any holes. It gives you the additional advantage of being able to see where you are routing. Mounts with included double-stick tape, but you cam also install it more permanently with screws if you like.
